Herald-Leader Staff ReportMay 21, 2013

A special all-faiths service for those affected by by the Oklahoma tornadoes is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday in Richmond.

The service will be at St. Mark Catholic Church, 601 West Main Street.

"We welcome everyone to pray for all those whose lives were touched by the tornadoes," Rev. James W. Sichko said in a news release. "And we invite all people of all faiths who wish to give thanks to God, even in the midst of much sadness, heartache and destruction. Faith is vitally important in healing bodies, hearts and souls during such a difficult time."

"This is a very sad and troubling time, and we have the opportunity to come together as a community and share our faith during this special Mass," Sichko said. "Opening our hearts in prayer to those who have suffered so much means a great deal to so many people."
