A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle earlier this week in Cynthiana has died at a Lexington hospital, Fayette County authorities said Thursday.

Obie Roberts, 56, of Cynthiana died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, the coroner's office said.

The accident occurred at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street between Joe B. Hall Court and Renaker Alley in Cynthiana, Cynthiana Police Sgt. Wilbur Gross said.

Roberts stepped from behind a parked vehicle and into the path of a 2012 Dodge truck driven by Austin Nettleship, 25, of Cynthiana, Gross said. The truck was pulling a horse trailer.

No charges will be filed against Nettleship, Gross said.
