Four children injured in crash in Harrison County

Four children were injured Wednesday night when a tire blew out on a van on a Harrison County road, Sheriff Bruce Hampton said Thursday.

The van, driven by Teaira McDaniel, 30, went off A. Kellar Dam Road, struck two trees and came to rest near a third, Hampton said. The crash happened at 10:15 p.m. north of Cynthiana.

Passengers Daemion McDaniel, 7, and Amelia McDaniel, 10, were flown to University of Kentucky Hospital, where they were listed in fair condition.

Selena Villasana, 5, and Sophie Villasana, 3, were treated and released from Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Hampton said.

Teaira McDaniel and another child,John McDaniel, 6, were not injured.
