A man died after being found shot on Carver Road in Lexington on Saturday night.

Police were called to Carver Road, just off Hollow Creek Road, at 10:39 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and when they arrived they found blood outside 658 Carver Road, police Lt. David Biroschik said.

Then, Biroschik said, a neighbor who lives across the street from 658 Carver came over and told police there was a man on his porch who had been shot.

He said officers performed CPR until emergency medical workers arrived and took the man to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he died.

The man was not carrying identification and had not been identified as of 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Biroschik said.

Police had blocked off the area around 658 Carver Road and were sending in officers from the Emergency Response Unit and robots to check the house to make sure no one else was inside.

Biroschik said police did not have information about a suspect as of 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Watch Kentucky.com Sunday for updates on this story.
