Carver Road shooting victim identified

Staff, wire reportsMay 27, 2013

Lexington: The Fayette County coroner on Sunday identified Jered Taylor, 26, of Lexington as the man found shot on Carver Road in Lexington on Saturday night.

The coroner’s office said Taylor died of a gunshot wound.

Funeral arrangements were pending Sunday.

Police had not made an arrest Sunday and did not yet know the circumstances that led to Taylor’s shooting.

Police were called to the 600 block of Carver Road, off Hollow Creek Road in northeast Lexington, at 10:39 p.m. Saturday for a report of shots fired. They found blood outside one of the homes when they arrived, police Lt. David Biroschik said. Then a neighbor who lives across the street came over and told police there was a man on his porch who had been shot, Biroschik said.

Officers performed CPR until emergency medical workers arrived and took Taylor to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he died.
