Lexington police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of Jered Taylor, who was found outside a home on Carver Road late Saturday.

Darryl William Stewart Jr., 24, of Lexington was arrested Tuesday at police headquarters and charged with one count of murder, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

"There are still other individuals who we want to talk to" about the shooting, Roberts said.

Police found Taylor, 26, of Lexington after being called to the 600 block of Carver Road, off Hollow Creek Road in northeast Lexington, about shots fired just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators found blood outside one of the homes when they arrived, police Lt. David Biroschik said. A neighbor who lives across the street came over and told police there was a man on his porch who had been shot, Biroschik said.

Taylor was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Jefferson Street. Services will be at 1 p.m. O.L. Hughes & Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
