Dennis Gordon Howard III awarded rank of Eagle Scout

The following Boy Scouts have been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America:

Anthony Nicholas Carpenter, age 15, a student at Berea Community High School, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout May 13. He is a member of Troop No. 74, sponsored by Berea United Methodist Church. He is the son of Anthony Carpenter Jr. and Virginia Bland. For his Eagle Scout project, Carpenter completed a furniture restoration project at the Battle of Richmond Museum.

Dennis Gordon Howard III, age 18, a graduate of Tates Creek High School, received his Eagle Scout award Jan. 23. He is a member of Troop No. 220, sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church. He is the son of Lori Eison and Dennis G. Howard II. His Eagle Scout project involved the identification, removal and eradication of invasive native species of honeysuckle along the trails of the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary.
