Former UK women’s basketball player Maegan Conwright has transferred to Florida State.

Conwright, a 5-foot-8 guard from Arlington, Texas, decided to leave UK’s program earlier this spring. She played in 77 games as a Wildcat, including 20 starts.

Her junior season was cut short last December when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. Conwright played in 10 games before the injury and underwent surgery in January.

She will sit out the 2013-14 season due to transfer rules.

In a release from the school, Florida State Coach Sue Semrau said the Seminoles were “extremely excited” to add Conwright.

"She will bolster our young backcourt with her experience and leadership,” Semrau said. “Maegan will contribute at multiple perimeter positions for us. She has played in some big games and is a relentless, tenacious player who will help take this program to the next level."

Conwright averaged 4.8 points, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 18.9 minutes per game during her career as a Wildcat.
