Woodford County: Library hosts Fun Family Fridays; political forum set for June 18

The Woodford County Public Library will host Fun Family Fridays in June and July. These programs are free and suitable for all ages. Call (859) 846-4014 (Midway branch) or (859) 873-5191 (main library) to sign up.

■ Animals Underground, 4 p.m. Friday at the Midway branch; 6:30 p.m. at the main library. The event features live animals from across the globe.

■ Great Grandparents' Tales, 4 p.m. June 21 at the Midway branch and 6:30 p.m. at the main library. Hear storyteller Mary Hamilton share stories that are more than 100 years old.

■ Pint Sized Polkas, 6:30 p.m. June 28 at the Northside Elementary School Gym, 500 Northside Drive, Midway. The event features polka musician Mike Schneider.

Moore leads Midway board

Donna R. Moore has been elected to serve as the chair of the board of trustees for Midway College. Laura Armesto has been named vice president of academic affairs and provost at the college.

District debate at Midway

A political forum, featuring candidates for the 56th District for the Kentucky House of Representatives — Lyen Crews, James Kay II and John-Mark Hack — is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. June 18 in the Anne Hart Raymond Center at Midway College. Submit questions to the candidates at woodforddirector@gmail.com.
