Lexington police were searching Thursday for a man who robbed the Chase Bank on Leestown Road at gunpoint.

The robbery occurred at 1:25 p.m. Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts released a revised description of the robber later Thursday.

The robber was described as a man, about 6 feet to 6 feet, three inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black toboggan; black gloves; a black face covering or mask; gray sweatpants; and a gray, long-sleeved T-shirt.

He carried a black revolver, Roberts said.

The robber demanded money, the bank employees complied and the robber left on foot, Roberts said.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact Lexington police at (859)258-3600, or specifically the Robbery/Homicide Unit at (859)258-3700.
