Randy Neeley will be interim superintendent of the Madison County Public Schools.

The Madison Board of Education named Neeley, who now is the Madison district's director of pupil personnel, to lead the schools until a permanent successor is found for outgoing superintendent Tommy Floyd.

Floyd recently resigned to become chief of staff of the Kentucky Department of Education.

Neeley will take over as interim superintendent July 1.

He has held various posts, including teacher, principal and pupil personnel director, since joining Madison Schools in 1994.
