Business awards: Week of June 17

Robert E. Fox, a Lexington geologist and petroleum engineer, has received the Pioneer Award from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists for his work in oil exploration and for the development of giant hydrocarbon resources. Fox is president of Term Energy Co. and a director at RAAM Global Energy, a Lexington corporation.

■ Bingham Greenebaum Doll attorney Brent R. Baughman has been awarded the 2013 Bruce K. Davis Bar Service Award by the Kentucky Bar Association. The award reflects Baughman's personal, professional and financial support of the association.

Video Editing Services has received three awards for online programming in the 34th Annual Telly Competition, selected from nearly 11,000 entries from around the world.

Awards were presented to VES in the Internet/Online Program category for: Advance KY: Laying the Foundation, a professional development program produced in cooperation with Liz LaVigne from the Kentucky Science and Technology Corp.; Live, a web-based marketing video created for the IdeaFestival in cooperation with Barbara Flexter; and Bluegrass History and Heritage, a tourism program created for the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau in cooperation with Mary Quinn Ramer.

Matt Burchett, an optometrist with Eye Care Center Optometrists in Richmond, has been named president of the Kentucky Optometric Association. Lauren Lodholz, also an Eye Care Center optometrist, has been named the 2013 Kentucky Young Optometrist of the Year.
