Coroner identifies woman found dead in Lexington church parking lot

The coroner has identified a woman who was found dead Thursday morning in the Trinity Baptist Church parking lot in Lexington.

The woman was identified as Bobbie Jo Hall, 33, of Abingdon, Va.. A cause of death is pending, according to a news release from the coroner.

Police were called to the church off Strader Drive after volunteer Jack Carpenter found Hall when he arrived about 7:10 a.m.

Carpenter said he saw something lying in the parking lot as he pulled in and noticed a strange car. Carpenter said he thought the woman had been dead for a while.

Lexington police spokesperson Sherelle Roberts said the woman's death does not appear to have involved foul play. She did not provide any other details.

Hall's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Frankfort, where an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Funeral arrangements were pending Thursday.
