2 armed robberies early Friday in Lexington might be linked

June 21, 2013

Two Lexington gas station convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint early Friday, and similar items were stolen from the stores.

Cash and cigarettes were taken from the Circle K on Buckhorn Drive just before 1 a.m. and from the Speedway on Paris Pike about 2 a.m., police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

In both cases, two robbers wore masks and had similar descriptions, Roberts said. Both entered the gas stations with guns visible.

The first robber is described as a black male wearing a black hoodie with red and green writing. He wore red gloves. The second is said to have been a black male wearing a white T-shirt, Roberts said.
