Traffic on Interstate 75 North was blocked for hours Saturday after a five-vehicle wreck that sent five people to the hospital. The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. at the 118 mile marker, just past the split where I-75 goes north to Cincinnati and Interstate 64 goes west to Louisville.

Lt. Sam Murdock of the Lexington police said one person had life-threatening injuries.

It was unclear what caused the wreck, but officers said one of four passenger cars involved had been stopped on the side of the road before the crash, which also involved a small pickup truck. I-75 North was closed until just after 7 p.m. as police investigated.
