A man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot on Pemberton Street Saturday night.

Lt. Eddie Hart of the Lexington police said a two-door silver passenger car pulled up outside a house on the 500 block of Pemberton about 10:20 p.m., and someone inside the car shot the man, who was on the porch of a home.

He said police were trying to gather information about the shooter and the vehicle. He said it appears that they "targeted the person specifically." The victim's name was not released.
