June 24, 2013

The Central Kentucky environmental group Bluegrass PRIDE has changed its name to Bluegrass Greensource.

"Over this time, we have become the source for green education in Central Kentucky," Amy Sohner, the organization's executive director, said in a news release. "We wanted our name to better reflect our mission and the role we play in the communities we serve."

Bluegrass Greensource, founded in 2001, provides environmental education programs in more than 230 regional schools and participates in partnerships with more than 600 businesses and apartment complexes, the news release said.

Through a partnership with Kentucky American Water Co., Bluegrass Greensource have provided rain-barrel workshops in five counties.
