Library program fights summer brain rot

The Paris-Bourbon County Library is one of 10 libraries participating in a pilot program that runs through July 26 to help students combat summer learning loss. The program was developed by the Kentucky-based National Center for Family Literacy and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.

The program uses online and offline multigenerational activities as well as virtual field trips to help build concrete learning skills.

Participating libraries will conduct workshops that include a meal for the families, a poster that features literacy tips and practices, books to take home and a recommended reading list.

Contact the Paris-Bourbon County Public Library for specific dates and information at (859) 987-4419.
