Burgoo: Something to stew over

July 9, 2013

During July Fourth-related festivities, we heard a lot of puzzling over the auto-tuned video, "What Rhymes With Alison Lundergan Grimes?," released by Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell's campaign in response to the Democratic secretary of state's entry into next year's U.S. Senate race. Our favorite overheard observation: Why would opposition name-rhyming be introduced as a form of political discourse by someone named "Mitch?" We just hope that if Grimes or any political pranksters feel compelled to reciprocate in kind they stick to "serves the rich" and "ditch."

Lexington Herald-Leader is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
