Greensboro holds off pesky Legends

Matt Juengel had a double, a home run and two RBI as the Greensboro Grasshoppers earned a 6-3 win over the host Lexington Legends Wednesday afternoon.

The Legends jumped in front 1-0 in the first inning, but Greensboro took the lead for good with three runs in the the second against Legends starter Miguel Almonte.

The Legends answered with a run in their half of the second on consecutive two-out singles by Jin-Ho Shin, Yowill Espinal and Terrance Gore. Juengel's solo homer in the third gave Greensboro a 4-2 lead. The Legends again chipped away at the deficit with a run in third, but the Hoppers pulled away with runs in the seventh and ninth.

Greensboro starter Ramon Del Orbe (5-4) worked the first five innings and got the win. Almonte (3-7) pitched the first three innings and took the loss.
