When in Rome, Legends win

Mark Donato had two hits and knocked in three runs as the first-place Lexington Legends beat the host Rome Braves 5-2 for their fourth straight win. Donato's two-run double was part of a three-run first inning for the Legends, who are two games ahead of Greenville in the South Atlantic League Southern Division.

An 8-year-old eastern Indiana boy died after a baseball hit him in the head and neck. The Marion County Coroner's Office says Dylan Williams died of blunt force trauma Wednesday, one day after suffering the injury in Union City, about 75 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The boy was hit by a ball that had been thrown during practice Tuesday evening.
