Kentucky women's signee Harper makes first start in U.S. romp

University of Kentucky signee Linnae Harper had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and seven steals Saturday as the United States defeated Mali 103-26 to wrap up preliminary-round play in the U19 World Basketball Championships in Lithuania.

Harper, making her first start for the U.S., played 21 minutes Saturday. She made five of eight shot attempts from the field and one of two free throws. UConn's Breanna Stewart led the U.S. with 17 points.

Team USA won its three preliminary-round games by an average of 63 points. The U.S. takes a 3-0 record into second-round play starting Monday against the Netherlands.
