Funeral mass for former UK player Rick Norton will be Saturday in Louisville

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for former University of Kentucky football player Richard Eugene "Rick" Norton, 69, of Louisville, who died Thursday.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stephen Martyr Church at 3015 Greenup Road in Louisville.

Visitors are welcome beginning at 11:30 a.m.

After his time at UK, Norton played for the Miami Dolphins for four years and spent one year with the Green Bay Packers.

He worked in the state parks department under former Gov. John Y. Brown and was state racing commissioner under Gov. Martha Layne Collins.
