July was sixth-wettest in Lexington; top 10 for wettest summers is likely

August 1, 2013

With a total of 9.10 inches of rain, July was Lexington's sixth-wettest July on record.

WKYT meteorologist Chris Bailey said August needs only 1.5 inches of rain for this summer to crack the top 10 list of wettest summers in Lexington.

"We should easily make it into the top 10," Bailey said.

June finished as Lexington's 10th-wettest June on record.
