A Sadieville woman was killed Thursday in Scott County when her SUV collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 62 Cynthiana Pike, authorities said.

Karla J. Hopton, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Scott County coroner.

Hopton was driving a Toyota Highlander and traveling westbound when the SUV crossed into the eastbound lane, Kentucky State Police said. The SUV collided with the truck, driven by Christopher B. Fisher, 36, of Demossville in Pendleton County.

The crash happened about six miles north of Georgetown.
