A Nicholasville woman died in a crash on Interstate 64 in Rowan County on Saturday afternoon.

Betty Mullins, 47, was driving a Kia Sorento eastbound when the car dropped off the left shoulder, causing Mullins to overcorrect and swerve into the right lane at about 12:30 p.m., according to a news release from state police.

Mullins overcorrected again, and the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on the westbound side of the interstate near Mile Marker 143, state police said. The Kia was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer and a Chevrolet Suburban.

Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Suburban, Bart Taylor, 41, and his passenger, Glenna Taylor, 39, both of Oakland, Ill., were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Vicky Johnson, 52, of Silver Bay, Minn., was not injured.
