Strong field in place for 94th Kentucky Open

August 5, 2013

Keith Ohr, fresh off a victory in the Kentucky PGA Championship at Valhalla, will try to repeat as Kentucky Open champ this week.

Ohr will be among the favorites when the 94th Kentucky Open is contested at Olde Stone in Bowling Green. The 54-hole tournament is Tuesday through Thursday.

Ohr won last year's Open at Traditions. He also won the Open in 2001.

The Louisville club pro won the state PGA title at Valhalla two weeks ago, so his game is in good shape.

Tyler McDaniel, the reigning State Amateur champ, also comes into the Kentucky Open with momentum. The Clay County junior, who has committed to the University of Kentucky, won the national Junior PGA Championship in Washington, D.C., last week.

Matt Savage is also in the 144-player field at Olde Stone, where he won the 2009 Kentucky Open.
