Northern Ky. motorcyclist is killed in collision with car

August 5, 2013

VERONA — A northern Kentucky motorcyclist was killed Monday in a collision with a car on U.S. 42.

Boone County Sheriff's spokesman Tom Scheben said the 22-year-old man from Erlanger was riding a Suzuki motorcycle north on U.S. 42 in Verona about 7:15 a.m. Monday when the wreck happened.

Scheben said a 1997 Ford Taurus driven by Terry Gibson, 56, of Verona was stopped, waiting to turn onto left eastbound U.S. 42. Gibson started to pull out but stopped when he saw the motorcycle approaching.

Scheben said the motorcyclist braked but couldn't avoid the car. Gibson was uninjured.

Scheben said the name of the motorcyclist was being withheld pending the notification of his family.
