Fire destroys barn at Clark County vineyard

Fire destroyed a barn Tuesday night at a Clark County vineyard, Clark County Fire Battalion Chief Ernest Barnes said.

The fire, which broke out shortly after 11 p.m. at Harkness Edwards Vineyards on Combs Ferry Road, was possibly caused by a lightning strike, Barnes said. Inventory and equipment were destroyed in the fire, he said.

Barnes declined to identify a firefighter who injured his back at the scene. The firefighter and was treated and released at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
