Jimmy Reliford, 62, one of the stars of the Discovery Channel's Kentucky-set reality television series Backyard Oil, died Saturday.

Mr. Reliford was found by family members at his home in Columbia on Saturday morning, said Adair County Deputy Coroner David Taylor.

He said the cause of death is not yet known, but no foul play is suspected.

The Discovery Channel's online biographical sketch says Mr. Reliford was "one of Kentucky's biggest players in the oil business," who was known as "a good-hearted man who loves to gamble."

The network said he spent more than 30 years in the oil industry and owned a drilling company. The online bio said Mr. Reliford's hobbies included collecting $500 bills and playing "high-stakes checkers." Backyard Oil premiered in April.

Mr. Reliford is survived by a son, Anthony Reliford; a daughter, Amanda Reliford; and a sister, Charlene Sneed.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia.
