Investigations by the Boyle County Sheriff's Department have led to the arrests of two registered sex offenders for allegedly failing to comply with state laws for such offenders.

The department said that deputies and members of the Junction City Police Department arrested Gene Paul Pendygraft, 41, on Sunday, after determining he was living at a location other than his registered address.

The news release said Pendygraft also was charged with violating a law that prohibits registered sex offenders from using social networking websites that are accessible to minors.

Deputies and Junction City officers also arrested William J. Maddox, 46, on Thursday on a charge of violating the same law. Maddox was arrested after an investigation indicated he had a Facebook account, the sheriff's department said.

The Boyle Sheriff's Department said anyone with information about registered sex offenders not complying with state sex-offender laws should contract the department at (859) 238-1220.
