August 14, 2013

Lexington boxer Samantha Kinchen and her coach, William "Sarge" Farris, have been selected to represent the United States in next month's World Junior and Youth Championships.

Kinchen, a 152-pounder, is a 2013 graduate of Henry Clay High School and an incoming freshman at the University of Kentucky.

She will compete on the Youth national team Sept. 20-29 in Albena, Bulgaria.

Farris is one of four coaches selected to lead Team USA.

Kinchen qualified for the national team earlier this year by winning the USA Boxing national championship.
