Lexington Children's Theatre turns 75 but looks younger

Herald-Leader staff reportAugust 18, 2013

Lesley Farmer, managing director of Lexington Children’s Theatre, estimated that 500 to 600 people attended the three-hour block party Saturday for the theater’s 75th birthday.

Those who came watched an open rehearsal of Anansi The Spider, took tours of the stage, had a question-and-answer session with costume and set designers, and participated in various workshops.

Other activities included a ticket give-away, cake, and face-painting.

“We had people who had never been here and people who haven’t been in a long time,” said Farmer.
