In addition to seeing agricultural exhibits and eating fried food on sticks, visitors to the Kentucky State Fair on Monday will get to check out new short plays by Gary Eldridge of Morehead, George McGee of Georgetown and Tim Soulis of Lexington.
The Kentucky New Play Series, free with fair admission, will be presented in the South Wing of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville.
McGees The Engagement will be presented at 11 a.m., Soulis A Life in the Day of Bobby/Robert follows at 11:45, and Eldridges The Beauty of Things is at 3 p.m.
All three presentations will be world premieres.
The showcase is produced by William McCann with associate producer Cheryl Brumley, and is sponsored by the Georgetown College theater department.
This is the second year the Kentucky New Play Series has been presented as part of the state fair. Go to Kystatefair.org for more information on the fair.
