The conference portion of the Kentucky women's basketball schedule was announced Tuesday and it appears to be good news for the Wildcats.

Last season, after a random draw, UK played several of the Southeastern Conference's highest-rated teams twice each.

The two random opponents for UK this season, Florida and Alabama, are both rebuilding and rated near the bottom.

But the Cats will have to contend with almost all of the league's top teams on the road, including games at Georgia (Jan. 30), Tennessee (Feb. 16) and Texas A&M (Feb. 23).

Kentucky faces another tough road game at South Carolina (Jan. 9). The Gamecocks are UK's permanent opponent and will visit Memorial Coliseum on Feb. 20 as well.

The Cats' game at Tennessee will be showcased on the new ESPN Sunday afternoon package and is set to tip off at 1 p.m.

The entire SEC television schedule will be released in a few weeks.

Kentucky announced its non-conference schedule this month, but times for most of those games also have not yet been revealed.
