Lex-Care: Widower needs help to pay electric bill following stroke

Shannon Gordon, a social worker at the Lexington Senior Citizen's Center, is counseling a widower who needs $247.93 to pay his electric bill.

The man was a truck driver who stopped working when he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes. He was recently hospitalized because of a stroke and he fell behind on his electric bill.

Once that bill is paid he will be able to manage on the income he receives from Social Security benefits and food stamps.
