Holiday closings

Here is how Lexington services are affected Monday by the Labor Day holiday:

City government offices: Closed.

City trash collection: Those whose regular collection day is Monday will receive their collection service on Wednesday.

Businesses that have city waste-management services for their dumpsters (landfill-bound and recycling) and have pickups on Mondays will have their units picked up on Tuesday. Those normally having pickups on Tuesdays will have their units picked up on Wednesday.

The Lexington Recycling Center, Electronic Recycling Center and Haley Pike Waste Management facility are closed.

Courts: Circuit and federal courts closed. District court closed for hearings but open for bonds and fine payment.

Health department: Closed.

Herald-Leader business offices: Closed. For delivery issues, call 1-800-999-8881.

Lextran: Operating on Sunday schedule.

Libraries: Closed.

Postal Service: No delivery.

State government: Closed.
