Authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of an estranged Clark County couple Friday afternoon.

Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart identified the two as Jeffrey Bishop, 49, and his wife, Mary A. Bishop, 38.

Gayheart said Jerry Bishop apparently shot his wife during an argument at about 1 p.m., and then shot himself.

"It was a domestic situation between a husband and wife that tragically developed into a murder-suicide situation," Gayheart said.

According to the Winchester Sun, the Bishops were in the process of a divorce.

The incident occurred at a residence on Railroad Lane off the Stoner-Ephesus Road east of Winchester, authorities said.
