New details were reported Wednesday in the domestic violence case involving former University of Kentucky basketball player DeAndre Liggins.

Liggins, now a guard with the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder, was jailed over the weekend on a domestic abuse complaint but has not been charged with a crime, The Oklahoman Newspaper reported.

Liggins is accused of punching his girlfriend in front of the couple's 2-year-old son on Saturday, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Tuesday, the newspaper said.

Liggins' girlfriend had injuries on her arm and fingers as well as scratches on her back and bruising on her chest, according to the Oklahoma City police officer who wrote the affidavit. The Oklahoman said Liggins was released Saturday on $8,000 bail.

Liggins averaged 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 39 games with the Thunder last season, his first in Oklahoma City.

Liggins played three seasons at Kentucky from 2008 to 2011. He was a member of UK's Final Four team in 2011.
