Friday's kickoffs

All games begin at 7:30 p.m.

City games

Bryan Station (1-0) at Highlands (2-0): Highlands has a 47-game winning streak at home against Kentucky competition, including a narrow escape (28-22) of Bryan Station in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs in 2008.

Clark County (1-1) at Henry Clay (1-0): In his last 13 games the Blue Devils' Elijah Bell has rushed for 2,068 yards and 19 touchdowns. Clark County quarterback Luke Sharrock will sit out this game after suffering a concussion at Anderson County last week.

Lafayette (0-2) at Lexington Catholic (0-2): With losses to Scott County and Central, Lafayette is 0-2 for the first time since 2010. With losses to Bowling Green and St. Xavier, Lexington Catholic is 0-2 for the first time since 1993. The Knights have beaten Lafayette the last two years (42-7 and 21-18).

Lincoln County (0-2) at Lexington Christian (1-1): Lincoln County assistant Mickey Goodwin died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident last Friday, so the Patriots have had it rough. LCA beat Estill County 33-14 last week despite 0-for-2 passing. The Eagles ran for 308 yards, led by Dylan Lancaster (130) and Nick Whitman (128).

Tates Creek (2-0) at Perry Central (1-1): Tates Creek beat Moore 41-0 last week, its first shutout in 33 games, and second in 69 games since 2006. Perry Central lost at Corbin last week.

Woodford County (0-2) at Paul Laurence Dunbar (1-1): Bulldogs QB Emory Thompson has run for 179 yards and a TD, and thrown for 125 yards and 3 TDs in his first two games. Woodford County's Dalton Rose rushed for 137 yards and a TD in last week's loss to Madison Central.

Top state games

Belfry (1-0) at Harlan County (2-0): The Pirates' Philip Haywood and the Black Bears' Tom Larkey have 647 coaching wins between them, and almost all have come in smash-mouth style.

Bourbon County (2-0) at Breathitt County (1-0): Bourbon County has won 15 regular-season games in a row. Breathitt County first-year coach Kyle Moore won his debut last week against Jackson County.

Bowling Green (1-0) at St. Xavier (2-0): Bowling Green is the only Kentucky school besides Trinity to beat St. X since 2007. The Purples have done it two years in a row as part of their 31-game winning streak.

Boyle County (2-0) at Danville (1-1): Danville beat the Rebels last year for only the fourth time in its last 14 tries.
