A federal grand jury has charged nine people with allegedly being involved in a heroin-trafficking ring in Lexington.

Those charged are Khaaliq "Fat Boy" Owens; Glenn E. "Rock" McGowan; Johnny James Burdell "Skeet" Payne; Brandon Hendrick James "Blaze" Pressley; Thomas Dejuan "Hawk" Brown; DeQuawn Lamar "Q" Hopkins; Lashawn Dewayne Hopkins; Nina Marie Calloway-Lovett; and Raven Elise Fish.

An informant told authorities he had bought heroin for $100 a gram from members of the drug ring, according to a sworn statement filed in court.
