Arrest warrants have been issued against Frederick C. Morgan, 29, in the shooting of a woman Sunday evening, according to Lexington police.

Police said Sunday that a Lexington woman was shot by her ex-boyfriend in front of her 5-year-old child as she got into a vehicle.

Police said then that the gunman pulled up in another car on Valley Drive and shot her once in the stomach. She was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The gunman was seen driving away in a Dodge Durango.

Police said Monday in a news release that the arrest warrants are for assault, wanton endangerment and violating an emergency protective order.
