Lexington police are investigating a Thursday night shooting in which a man suffered a life-threatening chest wound, spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

The victim showed up at University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Roberts said.

Roberts announced shortly before 10 a.m. Friday that two people had been charged with second-degree burglary but had not been charged with other offenses.

The two people charged with burglary are Sebastian Lee Smith, 20, and Lou Emma Deaton, 37.

Earlier Friday morning, Roberts said that a man and a woman, who police found walking on Russell Cave Road late Thursday, admitted to being in a disagreement with a man inside their home on Kingston Road and were taken to police headquarters for questioning, she said.

No additional information was available Friday morning.
