Louisville fans beware: U.S. 60 construction may slow you down

September 13, 2013

Fans traveling to Lexington from the west for the Kentucky-Louisville football game may experience traffic delays because of road work on U.S. 60 between Frankfort and Versailles.

A 7-mile stretch of the road is reduced to one lane in each direction due to an ongoing repaving project, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Eastbound Interstate 64 drivers who had planned to get off I-64 at Exit 58 — the U.S. 60 Frankfort-Versailles exit — may want to consider these alternatives to reach Commonwealth Stadium:

■ Take Exit 65 to U.S. 421/Leestown Road near Midway. Follow U.S. 421 into Lexington. Turn right onto South Broadway (U.S. 68), then take a left onto Waller Avenue.

■ Stay on I-64 through its merger with Interstate 75 on the north side of Lexington, then take Exit 113 onto North Broadway (U.S. 68) and follow it through downtown Lexington. Take a left onto Waller Avenue.
