A Lexington woman was killed Sunday night in a crash on Interstate 64 in Carter County.

Myong S. Tran, 53, was driving east in a Hyundai Elantra when she lost control near mile marker 149 about 7:35 p.m., according to a news release from state police.

The car went into the median, and Tran overcorrected, causing the car to cross both eastbound lanes and hit an embankment.

Tran, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car. She was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete Monday afternoon at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road.
