The truck driver who died in an accident that closed two lanes of northbound Interstate 75 in Fayette County for much of Saturday has been identified as Vitaliy Rushchak, 28, of Warren, Mich., the Fayette County coroner's office said Sunday.

According to Lexington police, Rushchak's truck crashed near the 110 mile marker late Friday night or early Saturday. The tractor-trailer was so far off the road it wasn't visible, police said. The crash was found about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when a motorist saw evidence of the wreck. Lexington police Lt. Chris Young said the truck left the road, crossed a creek and hit an embankment.

Part of the interstate was closed to clean up spilled diesel fuel and the truck's cargo of plastic pellets.
