A Fayette County jail inmate escaped Monday for the second time in a week.

Ashley Page Marler, 31, was being seen at the Polk-Dalton Medical Center at 1 p.m. Monday when she removed ceiling tiles and escaped from the building, according to a news release from the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Department of Public Safety.

Marler, who was thought to be wearing a white T-shirt and a towel, had been brought to the clinic by corrections officers. Police were called, but Marler had not been found by Monday night.

On Sept. 16, Marler failed to return to the jail after being released on a medical pass at 11:48 a.m. She was caught the next day, said Sgt. Jennifer Taylor.

Marler is 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

She originally was arrested on two counts of receiving stolen property and non-payment of fines. A charge of second-degree escape was added after she failed to return to the jail last week.

When she is apprehended again, Taylor said, Marler will face another charge of second-degree escape.

Another inmate who failed to return to the jail last week also remains at large.

Hanna Gail Stivers, 28, who was being held for a probation violation, was released on a work pass at 8 a.m. Friday. She did not return at 7 p.m. as scheduled.

Stivers, who is 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, is now wanted on a warrant for second-degree escape.
