'Flashdance' canceled at EKU arts center

Staff, Wire ReportsSeptember 24, 2013

Richmond: This weekend's performances of Flashdance — The Musical at the Eastern Kentucky University Center for the Arts have been canceled "due to unforeseen circumstances," according to the center's Facebook page.

This was to have been the Central Kentucky debut for the musical based on the 1983 movie that was considered groundbreaking for its use of music and music video-style editing. The musical version premiered in London in 2008. It has toured in the United States but not played Broadway.

The EKU Facebook post said ticket holders may get refunds or exchange tickets for other EKU Center shows.
