Alyssa Kruse, a Transylvania University junior from Tates Creek High School, has been named women's soccer player of the week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Kruse, a forward, scored the game-winning goal in two victories last week for Transylvania (4-2).

Kruse scored in the 72nd minute of Transylvania's 1-0 win over Centre on Wednesday. She scored the game's only goal again on Saturday at Wooster, in the 58th minute.

"(Alyssa) has worked extremely hard for us and finished an amazing shot (this weekend) to help us win the game," Coach Michael Fulton said. "She is a good finisher and is playing very well."

Transylvania returns to action Thursday, playing host to Thomas More at 7 p.m.
