Jessamine County: Build a rain garden at Springhouse Gardens or run the Thin Mint Sprint Saturday

Learn how to build and maintain a rain garden at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Springhouse Gardens, 185 West Catnip Hill Road in Nicholasville. The 5th annual Girl Scouts Thin Mint Sprint will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at RJ Corman Railroad Group. The run consists of a 10K run and a 5K run or walk. Participants may dress like a super hero for this themed race. Other activities include face painting, mask making, healthy snacks, and a super hero photo booth. All participants will receive a collapsible water bottle and a box of Thin Mints. The RJ Corman Railroad Group is located off the US27 Bypass on 101 RJ Corman Drive. Brought to you by Kentucky's Wilderness Road Girl Scouts. Cost is $40 for the 10K run, $25 for the 5K run/walk. Register online at Thinmintsprint.org.

Musical Masterworks

The Men's Glee Club, the Singing Chorale, and the Chamber Bells will be featured at the Asbury Masterworks Series at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wilmore Senior Community Center at Wesley Village. The Masterworks Series presents the best of Asbury University's student instrumental and vocal ensembles. A reception with hors d'oeuvres will follow.
